I’m 15 and going to Marrakech at the end of the year for Christmas. Have you ever been there at that time? Do you know what the weather will be like? It sounds like Morocco is an amazing place, I can’t wait to go.

A great site with good information on Morocco. I too am a bit of a Morocco addict, but unfortunately I live much further away and so only have been twice (in the past year).
Check out some of the archives at http://frijoles265.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_frijoles265_archive.html
Good luck in your future travels!

Hi there…I’ve got a pretty random question. My wife and I are thinking about heading off to Morocco. It would be our first time visiting and we’re pretty excited about it. We’re planning on flying into Marrakech but we generally like to travel around and see a bit…however, my wife is six months pregnant and i’m not sure how much we’ll be able to do. Do you have any recomendations for day trips or overnight places to visit outside of Marrakech?
Also do you think we’ll get bored if we stay in the city for the whole time?
Thanks!

Hi: Excellent information. Myself and my wife and our daughter are planning a trip in the first wk of June to attend the Fes festival. My wife has been invited to present a concert in this year’s festival. After the concert, we have about 4/5 days and would like to look around some key places before we move to Paris. Kindly do let me know what we can achieve in 4 /5 days and which are places that we should visit after Fez?
Would appreciate your inputs on this.
Regards: Badri

Hi there João,
Tomorrow by this time my friends and I should be having dinner at Algeciras. We’re leaving from Lisbon in the morning and we’ll spend the next 10 days exploring the area in our rented 9 person van.
I’ve read your entire blog so as I could improve some stuff about (not only) the country. Thanks for all the travel tips, you bet we’ll check them. I’m pretty curious about Essaouira and the desert. Let’s see…
You have a great, non boring and easy-to-use blog!
We’ll let you know when we return.

Hey, I thought that I would leave you another comment. I am back in Morocco, after far too long away. I am spending most of this trip just outside of the town of Rachidia (a bit outside of the Sahara). Thanks for all of the referrals!

Hello,
I’m travelling to morocco for the third time in March this year.
This time travelling alone.
i’d like to go more up South. maybe even go to the sahara. Do you have any recomandations according to publictransportation? I’m guessing it might be a bit dangerous to rent a car since i’m a woman alone?!
what do you think?

Hello!
My friend and I are thinking of flying in to Marrakesh, renting a car and making our way to the coast travelling north, then back inland to Fes. Is there any information you could offer that may be beneficial to me on this journey. Also, how easy is it to Navigate Morocco without speaking the native tounge?
Thanks for your time

Hello, i love this it is a great way to show how good Morocco is. i have never been there of course seeing as i am only 14 but it is on my list of things to do before i die, along with going to Spain, France and Venice. this website also helped me with my project for France, because we had to pick a country out of these that spoke french;
Caledonia,
Morocco,
Algeria,
Madagascar or
Tahiti
and i chose Morocco. one of the questions was
“Describe 3 things that may attract people to this country. e.g type of food, wildlife, tourist attractions, culture etc”
I had looked everywhere for attractions and i couldn’t find any most of the websites had some sort of porn or something on them, i didn’t stay too long to find out, and then i found this website and it helped a lot, because i could just take the things that most of these people liked. it helped a lot and I’m really glad that i found this website. i wish more websites were like this, if you type in the google search engine
“What attracts people to Morocco”
most of the websites are stupid and have very little information or are porn sites under different names so they are disguised in a way. and it is really annoying
anyway i like this website there should be more.

hy,
i’d like to visit morocco pretty soon (1-2 weeks from today) for aproximatly two weeks,… well, i have never been there or in any other african country,… i have traveld around europe and to new zeland(3 months tour
) but i’d really like to get some direct info from someone who has good preknoledge of oportunities and posibilities of touring morocco…
i’m from balkans so the idea of bargaining for stuff is familiar to me
and i think i’d do pretty goood concerning that topic… but i still haven’t decides an all the interesting topics i’d like to do/see…
my general plan was to fly in from london by ryan air,… and then maybe tour aroung for some time and stay most of the time in hostels or smaler/cheaper hotels and for the end pick a the best oportunity and stay a few days in a fancy hotel enyoying full servise etc….
and yeah,… the emphasis of my tour should be relaxation and enyoyment of nice warm climate, sea, beach, desert, oasis and so on… i’m not into skying and similar
hehe
i would really appreciate any information recived and would most definetly take advantage of any good deal or must have/do you could point me out.
thanks in advance

What advice could you give me?
Living in Northern Europe, having perhaps 4 weeks available dec ’10/jan ’11, needing to pick up a heavy stone item – like fountain (!) in Morocco somewhere (haven’t decided yet where). Travelling probably 2-4 persons, strongly considering taking a car, tenting, taking some time to get to know oft-the-beaten-track Morocco, desert, yogaplaces etc… could buy second hand car in Europe (family) or would you have connections in Portugal… I’ve been reading a Toyota Landcruiser would be good; reliable, many spare parts around, or would you advice different? What paperwork would I need to take care of getting car & us into Morocco, what paperwork would evt. be involved in taking that fountain out of Morocco? Or would it be better to buy car in Morocco (if u have connections, happy to know more!!), but then more paperwork involved in exporting it out of Morooco? First thoughts and advice very much appreciated!

Hi, I´m another fan of the website, information and advice you offer. And also another Morocco addict, having first spent a year there in 1969 to 1970. As I now live in Spain, I can and do travel to Morocco 3 or 4 times a year always, as you, driving and exploring for thousands of kilometres.
On your comments page, is it possible to read the replies to the comments and questions somewhere?
My own question is which accommodation would you recommend for new year´s eve this year in Merzouga?
Thank you
