Dec 31, 2010 – Last year was a great success! Visitors from different countries enjoying the stars, music, bonfire, company and champagne after a great meal. What a way to bring in the New year!!)
Gnawi Music Show and Mechui Dinner Party Under the Stars in Merzouga, Morocco

2010 celebrating the New Year in Sahara Desert !!! Regular dinner included. Soup, Couscous with Chicken or Beef, Fruit and Mince Meat Pies (courtesy Elena) Water, Mint Tea, coffee and soft drinks included. Alcoholic Drinks extra. Champagne and Party favors at Midnight!!

Mechui is a special way of preparing Lamb in the desert in Merzouga. A young succulent lamb is prepared with spices and inserted into an adobe “mud” oven and slowly roasted over a wood fire. When ready, the lamb is ceremoniously carried inside the Big NOMAD tent (or Hotel Haven La Chance if the weather is windy) and carved while everyone is listening to the famous black G’nawi Music and watching them dance their traditional dances. Bivouac Merzouga with real nomad tents and great New Year party ambiance in Sahara Desert.

While waiting, one mingles under the stars in Merzouga next to a huge bonfire (to keep warm!) and enjoys the atmosphere of the desert and the music.
- 75 Euros per person in Hotel rooms..
- 65 Euros per person in Nomad tents by Hotel. Toilet facilities inside hotel.
Really an Adventure! Limited space available!! Reservations in Progress.

Ouarzazate to Erfoud with 4×4

Morocco keeps on surprising me. I guess that I’m kind of lucky working the way I do. I mean, I’m able to get to know the country and still, make my life out of it. The other day, I got to know one of my client’s services deeper.
This new transportation agency settled in Ouarzazate needed to improve their advertisement and their internet presence.
I got to know the company’s owner already last year while in Marrakech. Lahceen, a young and promising business man was willing to go for a strong advertisement project on a considerable budget. After a couple of days discussing, we finally agreed on something suitable for both. It was with great pleasure that I got my self a new costumer: Transport Tifinagh.
So, like I was trying to explain on the beginning of this text, I got to know Transport Tifinagh a bit closer. I went on a trip from Ouarzazate to Erfoud on their Ford Focus which is a great car, very comfortable and safe. It’s interesting to see how transportation companies in Morocco are opening their services, providing not only 4×4 transportation as well as minibus and small vans, but, this great improvement that is to take people on regular high quality vehicles.
This suits some of the most well known Moroccan destinations quite well as many of the tours are possible to make driving on asphalt roads, so a 4wd doesn’t make any much of a difference.
We passed the entrance of the Rose Valley at el-Kelaa M’Gouna to have lunch. M’Gouna is an interesting town that has hundreds of shops selling local made rose products. The sceneries are quite nice also. The road goes all the way towards Tinerhir, Tinejdad and finally Erfoud. On a trip like this is fantastic to notice landscapes changing, mountains with different shapes, distinct colors and of course, the arrival of the Sahara sands as they invade our road. There is sand all over. Yes we arrived to the desert.
